Oak Island Dog Registration and Licensing

Every dog over the age of four months must have a valid rabies vaccination tag, which should always be affixed to its collar.

All residents of Oak Island must register their dogs with the town authority. The registration is free; owners must complete a separate dog registration form and submit a rabies vaccination certificate for their pet to get the tags. 

If a dog goes missing, the town authority can use the information provided to find it. Dog registration is also mandatory to avoid fees charged for overnight housing.
