Stone Harbor Beach Dog Rules, NJ

  • Only dogs with a leash are allowed on Stone Harbor Beach.
  • From Friday before Memorial Day to Labor Day, dogs are allowed on the beach from 07:00 pm to sunset.
  • Dogs enter the beach anytime from the day after Labor Day till the day before Memorial Day.
  • Dogs are prohibited from entering Stone Harbor Point at any time.
  • Owners are responsible for cleaning up and disposing of the waste produced by their pets. 

Stone Harbor Beach Dog Licensing

Dogs that have attained the age of seven months or older must be licensed. When dogs develop permanent teeth, registration becomes mandatory. Municipalities provide licensing facilities, and the registration needs to be renewed annually. 

Dogs must wear their registration tags at all times. Charges for licensing include $3 for registration and $1 for tags. “Seeing-eye dogs,” “service dogs,” and “Hearing Dogs” require only one-time licensing. When outside the owner’s property, pets cannot run freely.

Stone Harbor Beach Parking, New Jersey

Stone Harbor Beach provides paid parking facilities starting on 01st October. Visitors enjoy paid parking from 10:00 am to 09:00 pm. Charges range from around $1 to $10 per hour (approx). Seasonal parking permits are obtained from the Borough Clerk’s office. They cost around $250 (approx) per season. All payments are now made via the ParkMobile application.

Visitors purchase tags before entering Stone Harbor Beach, NJ. Anyone over 12 years old needs a badge to enter. They must display the beach tags at all times. Badges are required from Saturday of Memorial Day weekend to Monday of Labor Day Weekend. Everyone must have a beach tag from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

The beach offers three types of tags: seasonal, weekly, and daily. Seasonal tags are needed from May 31st to June 1st and cost around $32 to $40 (approx). Weekly badges cost $17, and daily badges cost $8 (approx). During the summer, these can be purchased from beach inspectors or the Beach Tag Office.

  • Swimming, rafting, and surfboarding are allowed on beaches except 81st, 86th, 105th, 110th, 112th, and 122nd Streets.
  • Only licensed surfboards are allowed on 81st and 110th Streets beaches.
  • Kayaking is only allowed on beaches from 122nd Street to 126th Street.
  • While engaging in any water activities, life jackets must be worn at all times.
  • Only licensed sailcrafts are allowed at designated beaches.
  • Picnic, alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, and fire are prohibited on Stone Harbor Beach.
  • Sleeping on the beach from sunset to sunrise is prohibited.
  • Vehicles are only allowed on the beach from 01st October to 31st March.
