Myrtle Beach Dog Rules and Policies, South Carolina

• Dogs must always be on a leash of seven feet or shorter.
• From May 1 through Labor Day, dogs are prohibited from entering the beach area from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• Dog owners must pick up and properly dispose of their pet’s droppings. 
• Dogs are allowed from Labor Day to April 30 of next year.
• From May 1 to September 4 (Labor Day), the Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade allow dogs from 5:00 am to 10:00 am.
• From May 15 to September 15 at the City of North Myrtle Beach, dogs are prohibited from entering between 9 am to 5 pm.
• Dogs are allowed 24 hours on Pawleys Island and Georgetown County beaches.
• Certain areas of the beaches are restricted for dogs. These areas are marked. Hence, dog owners should keep their dogs out of these areas.
• They need to be kept leashed from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. You can keep off a properly trained dog’s leash before 9:00 am and after 7:00 pm.

Myrtle Beach Dog License

The license costs about $5 for a spayed or neutered dog and $7 for an intact dog. After purchases, the license comes in 5 to 7 working days. The license should be renewed annually to avoid a penalty of $ 1,087.50. All pets should have an updated rabies vaccination report for issuing licenses.
