  • From 15th May to Labour Day, dogs are prohibited from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.From sunrise to 9 a.m., dogs can be on a leash or under voice control. After 5 p.m. till sunset, dogs are allowed on leashed condition.
  • Dogs must be away from the red flag-restricted areas.
  • From 1st April to Labor Day. Dogs are strictly disallowed from Champion Street to Spurwink River. 
  • From Labor Day to 14th April, dogs must be in leashed condition from 1 a.m. to 3 p.m. Except for these hours, dogs are allowed any time of the day in off-leash conditions. 
  • Owners must clean up after their paste and carry it themselves.

Higgins Beach Dog Licensing

All dogs should be licensed by the municipality in which they reside. Dogs of 6 months and above must be licensed. In this case, within 10 days after adaptation, they should get their license. A current rabies certificate is required.

On the 31st of December of every year, the license expires. On 15th October, the license can be renewed. If the dog is neutered, owners should bring a written proof.

Higgins Beach is a picturesque beach tucked between a quiet neighborhood that dates back to the late 1800s. This is a small private beach that gives public access. The white sand and pristine water are what people love about this beach.
