  • By Car: Travelers coming by car should head east of Corpus Christi Highway 358 and take J.F.K. Causeway into Padre Island. Then, continue down Park Road 22 to reach the entrance.
  • By Flight: The closest airport to the National Seashore is Corpus Christi International Airport (61 Km). Visitors then can take a car rental to reach the park.

Camping At North Padre Island National Seashore

Camping in the Park is allowed year-round. Beach camping depends on weather conditions. Spots for camping are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. A park entrance fee and a seven-day or annual pass is required. 

Visitors must fill out a permit to Camp at Malaquite Campground or Bird Island Basin Campground. They can pay the entrance fee at the self-registration kiosk at the campground entrance. Camping on Yarborough Pass, North, and South Beach requires a self-issued permit at the entrance kiosk.

  • Beach Wheelchairs and Walker are only available for four-hour use. In the absence of any patrons waiting to use it, it can be extended.
