In 1968, the state gave this land to the county. In 1990, a private company offered them additional space for a parking lot.
This beach is perfect for sunbathing, picnicking, and spending time outdoors with pets. The area has a Boathouse Restaurant offering delicious foods, cocktails, and happy hour. Nearby Douglas Family Preserve has a beautiful terrain path, and on Elings downhill, paragliders can be seen reaching the sky.
