  • Dogs are permitted throughout the day during the fall, winter, and early spring seasons.

  • People residing in Delaware with a dog older than six months must have a valid license. To get the permit, dog owners must produce a recent rabies vaccination certificate or a state-authorized exemption certificate. 
  • The license is also available online, and all should upload the necessary documents online to acquire the dog license.    
  • If a dog has been spayed or neutered, then proof for the same is required from a veterinarian. A licensing fee is charged for different categories of pets, and the validity of the license is from 1 to 3 years.
  • The license is valid till the expiry of the rabies vaccination certificate. The cost of licensing fertile dogs is higher than that of spayed dogs. 
  • The licensing fees for renewal should be paid within 30 days of the expiry of the license. Similarly, a late fee is a penalty for a license purchased after 30 days of expiration.

  • The usage of alcohol and glass is prohibited on the beach.
  • People’s access to the beach from the area of Roosevelt Inlet to the Cape May / Lewes Ferry Terminal is restricted between 12 AM to 6 AM. 
  • Keeping open fires on the beach should be avoided, whereas fires are allowed with a permit. After usage, it should be extinguished from the sand. 
  • Fishing is prohibited on the beach from Pilot Point at the eastern boundary to the Lewes Yacht Club at the westerly boundary from 10 AM to 5 PM.
  • Specific permits are necessary for doing beach activities. 
  • The public should avoid driving motorized watercraft on any beach strand within 300 feet of distance. 
  • Persons under 12 can use roller skates, inline skates, and skateboards on any sidewalks.  
  • People aged 12 and above can use skates only on the sidewalk on the east side of the Savannah Road drawbridge.
  • Smoking and vaping here is punishable by law.
  • Watersports like boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, and windsurfing are restricted on the beach.
