Coney Island Beach Dog Licensing

Coney Island is a beautiful beach in Brooklyn. The beach allows dogs to enjoy with their owners. However, as per NYC state laws, all dogs must be licensed. Licensing is mandatory for dogs older than 6 months and with permanent teeth. Proof of rabies vaccination by a certified veterinarian is required to get a license. 

This license tag must always be attached to the dog’s collar. Registration has a validity of one year. Thus, residents must renew them annually. Rabies vaccination must last at least 10 months of the licensing period. Dogs are prohibited from running off-leash outside the owner’s property. Registration fees start as low as $8 per dog.
